Northamptonshire Carers Awards
Do you know someone who devotes their time to looking after someone else? Do you think they deserve to be recognised for the hard work and support they provide? Or are you a carer who has received support from your GP, school, employer or social care to help you with your caring responsibilities?
If so, then you could nominate someone for the Northamptonshire Jane Roebuck Carers Awards, the annual awards ceremony which recognises the great work of carers in the county. The awards are now in their sixth year and include categories such as Young Carer of the Year, Carer of the Year and Shining Star Award, an award for a special person who goes that extra mile to support carers in education, health, social care, employer, etc.

Early Detection of Infections Pilot October 2015 - March 2016
Are you a carer and want to be able to identify & manage the early stages of infections?
A new pilot is being launched to help you prevent the person you are caring for being ill with an infection that may progress and require the need for an emergency admission to hospital.
NHS Nene Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and NHS Corby CCG are supporting this pilot, delivered by Northamptonshire Carers with software tools delivered by MiraLife.
Like you, we want to keep you and those you care for healthier for longer and prevent hospital admissions which can be a very distressing time for patients, carers and families.
What is involved?
We will work with you to help you understand and take some basic health test information for you and/or the person you are caring for. We will train you to record these on a regular basis on simple web based software.
Is it for me?
This Pilot will give you the extra ‘tools’ and knowledge you need to help you focus on those elements of long term conditions that are treatable and can be safely controlled.
The scheme will help you improve your ability to talk to health professionals in a confident and better informed way

Carers are all ages, from all backgrounds, and can be male or female.
They may not describe themselves as a carer; it’s just what they do as a husband, wife, partner, relative or friend. They may be providing physical, emotional or practical support or helping someone to get out and about.
