16th February 2017
Virgin Care, a healthcare provider which manages services at Lings Brook Practice, will cease to provide services at the surgery as of Friday 31 March 2017. NHS England and Nene Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) have been working together to ensure patients can continue to get the care they need.
Our priority is to ensure local people can continue to access care from a doctor when they need it. After looking very carefully at all the options for the future of Lings Brook Practice, NHS England and Nene CCGhave decided notto look for another provider to offer GP services at the practice.
This means that local people will not be able to receive services at Lings Brook after Friday 31 March 2017, but instead you can register at one of the other three GP practices which are located in the same building at Weston Favell Health Centre.
GPs across Northamptonshire are being encouraged to work more closely together to offer a wider range of sustainable services for patients – for example, offering extended opening hours and greater flexibility for appointments. This can be difficult for smaller practices like Lings Brook.
There is enough space available at the three other GP surgeries located within Weston Favell Health Centre to take all the patients from Lings Brook. These practices are all ready to register new patients from Lings Brook.
If patients do not want to register at one of these three practices, they also have the option to move to any other practice of their choice.
All patients registered at Lings Brook Practice have received a letter explaining what happens next and how they can register with a new GP practice.
We will also be running drop-in information events at Weston Favell Health Centre on the following dates to answer any questions:
Wednesday 22 February 2017 – 3pm to 4pm
Wednesday 8 March 2017 – 3pm to 4pm
In the future, we will be able to use the space vacated by Lings Brook to improve the range of services offered at the Weston Favell Health Centre and the quality of care that patients receive.
