Carole Dehghani has started her new role as interim Accountable Officer for Nene CCG, in addition to being the Accountable Officer for Corby CCG.
The new shared leadership arrangement will enable the two CCGs to build on the existing close collaboration already under way between the county's two NHS commissioning bodies, and to continue to focus on integrating commissioning to meet the needs for the patients and residents of Northamptonshire.
This appointment will support the drive for greater collaboration across the local health and care system across the county, supporting the work of the Northamptonshire Sustainability and Transformation Partnership.
Dr Darin Seiger, a local GP and GP Chair of Nene CCG, said: "We are delighted to have made such a strong appointment. Carole brings her immense experience and qualities in bringing the work of the CCGs together and to address the significant commissioning challenges that we face across the system.
“Her appointment will help us maximise the opportunities of working collaboratively to ensure that local people receive highest quality, sustainable local healthcare services.
“The members of our governing body are very much looking forward to working with Carole to develop and take forward our ambitious plans for to meet the needs of local people.”
