Mental Health crisis support services

The local NHS provides 24/7 crisis support for patients who need immediate help but do not need to go to Accident and Emergency.

The Crisis Cafes run most evenings on a drop-in basis. They provide a place for people to go for peer support, and somewhere calm for a few hours, if they feel their mental health may be getting worse. They provide an alternative to attending Accident & Emergency, if the issue is related solely to mental health.

The Crisis House is an alternative to going into hospital, for example if a patient doesn't feel safe at home overnight, or things at home are contributing to being in crisis. Patients generally use the Crisis House for 4-7 nights at a time, before returning home. If you need this support, you can access the Crisis House by the Urgent Care & Assessment Team.
